Happy Foundation Month!

It’s hard to believe November is here already.  I keep wondering where summer went?  Fall is my favorite season and with it comes Foundation month.  How is your club promoting Foundation Month? Many of you have asked for a District representative to speak at your club during November.  I encourage you to reach out throughout the entire year. There’s never a bad time to talk about the Rotary Foundation. Please reach out and share your plans and outcomes with me and other District Leadership.  We learn the most through your idea sharing. Tell your community about The Rotary Foundation as well. As you mark the occasion, be sure to prominently display your club name and The Rotary Foundation centennial logo on any signage. In addition, share your photos and stories on your social media pages using #TRF100.

Top Five Reasons to Give to the Rotary Foundation
  1. The Rotary Foundation allows clubs like ours to have a much larger impact than we could ever have on our own.
  2. Your giving helps qualify your club to take part in global grant projects and direct your money towards projects that are meaningful to you!  Donations to the Rotary Foundation are tax deductible for US taxpayers.
  3. The impact of every dollar you give is multiplied thanks to the grant system and Rotary’s partnerships with other organizations. For instance, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation matches every dollar committed to polio eradication 2:1, tripling your donation.

  1. When you give to The Rotary Foundation, you know your money is in good hands. In the United States, Charity Navigator is a trusted evaluator of nonprofits, measuring charities on their financial health, accountability, and transparency. The Rotary Foundation has consistently received four stars, the highest possible rating. It does well on both financial performance (rating of 100 out of a maximum of 100) and accountability and transparency (rating of 100.00).
  1. The above four reasons spell out why giving to the Foundation is the smart thing to do. It is also the right thing, as Rotarians, to do. We are committed to making a difference in our communities and putting service above self. There is no better way to do that than by supporting our Foundation. As members of Rotary, we ought to give.
