What?
A Rotary Scholarship for an academic year of study in a foreign high school as a guest of Rotary club. Students live with Rotarians as part of their families and enjoy free room and board and a small monthly stipend.  Rotary is the largest service organization in the world. Members volunteer   their time and resources to help others in their local communities and throughout the world.
 
Why?To have the most exciting year of your life! Meet students from around the world, learn a second language, gain cross cultural understanding, serve as a Rotary ambassador, enhance your resume.

Where?
France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Taiwan, Japan, Chile, Argentina, Paraguay, South Africa,  most countries around the world.
 
Who?
High school students, who will be 15-18 1/2 years old, on September 1, 2018.  Students should have 2 years language study of the country to which they are going.
 
When?
Recruiting for Outbound students is in August - October. Applications are now being accepted for the academic year 2017-2018 and due by Oct 22.  Applications are to be sent to local club volunteers. Club Interviews are to be held by October 28. Applicants will be contacted for appointments.  Selected applications are forwarded by Clubs to the District by November 10, with final interviews in Cedar Rapids on November 18. How?

Complete the application including the necessary signatures and photographs. Submit four original copies of the completed application in October to a local Rotary club Representative...
