November has arrived and with it brings Foundation Month. My ask of you this month is for you to ask questions about our Foundation. Knowledge is powerful and the more knowledge you have, the more you can share. Did you know that in the Rotary year 2022-2023 the Rotary Foundation gave out $278.5 million dollars in grants and to the Peace Centers? $14.8 million of that was for Disaster Grants, a newer program that is designed to provide immediate help to Disaster Victims all over the World.
Disaster Grants
Speaking of Disaster Grants, the one secured for Spencer Iowa after record breaking floods was provided to Upper Des Moines Opportunity. There will be a public gathering to thank Rotary on 14 November. Please contact Suellen if you'd like to attend.

District Grants
The District still has some grant funds left and the Foundation Committee is accepting applications for a second round. Applications are due Friday, November 29, 2024. Please contact Suellen for more details. You are encouraged to apply even if you've already received a grant this year.
During Foundation Month I hope you'll learn more and give from your heart. The Rotary Foundation makes a huge impact in the world every year and that is through the generosity of each and every one of you giving of your time, treasures and talents.
Yours in Service,
Michelle Bell
