Welcome to the June District 5970 Foundation newsletter.  I will start with a thank you to each District 5970 Rotarian.  We are wrapping up a wonderful Foundation year.  June is the final month of the Rotary year and we need to focus to get to the goals we set for the year accomplished.

 

I mentioned the District Grants last month – Each club that received a grant was supposed to have their final report submitted to foundationchair@district5970.org by May 31^st, 2022.  If you are not done and need an extension, you still need to submit an interim report (same report just write ‘extension needed’ in the report).  Click here for a blank copy of the final report.

 

Reminder that all District Grant applications need to be submitted to foundationchair@district5970.org by June 15^th to be considered.  Each club submitting must have completed the Grant Management Seminar, submit a Memorandum of Understanding and submit a complete grant application on or before June 15, 2022.  You can find out more information on the Grants page of the district website (click here).

 

We kicked off the District 5970 PolioPlus Society last month and I am pleased to let you know there are over 30 PolioPlus donors that have joined already.  June is the last opportunity for you to be named a ‘Founding Member’ of the District 5970 PolioPlus Society.  You must submit an application and proof of giving at least $100.00 to the PolioPlus campaign in Rotary year 2021-2022 to be named a founding member.  For more information click here to see the promotional flyer and the application.  I hear there are at least two clubs that are vying to be one of the first 100% PolioPlus Society clubs in the District.  As of today we are a little short of reaching the District PolioPlus goal for the year.  Your support will be appreciated.

 

Since this is June I want to remind anyone who has made a commitment to the Foundation to recheck to be sure they have fulfilled their commitment for the year.  You can look up your donation history within your profile on the My.Rotary.org webpage.  To do this log into your My.Rotary.org account - click on the drop-down arrow by your name in the upper right-hand corner - click on "My Donations" - Then click on "DONOR HISTORY REPORT" - then click on "Donor History Report" - click on the transaction detail tab on the bottom of the report.  This report shows all of your donations.

 

Now to end on a high note that should make us all proud to be a Rotarian.  Individual Rotarians donated over 15 million dollars for Ukrainian relief and support by giving to The Rotary Foundation’s Disaster Relief fund between March 3 and April 30 of 2022.  Another example of how a little from each of us can make a very big difference.  Click here to see the YouTube video.
