Dear Rotarians,

What do you hope for?  Last week I attended a funeral for my wife’s cousin.  He was a Lutheran pastor.  He was known for visiting his parishioners regularly.  At the end of each visit he would ask that question.  What do you hope for?

Our engagement with Rotary revolves around that question daily.  What do we hope for?  Our focus on peace among nations, clean water for the thirsty, eradicating polio for our children, gives hope to people across the world and across the street.  People we will never meet, and people we know.

Every gift we make to the Rotary Foundation builds a foundation of hope.  Every gift says Rotarians do not give up hope.  Instead, every gift GIVES hope.  Thank you to all who have made their gift this year!

Here are a couple reminders about giving opportunities that will end soon.

One Month Left of Rotary Rush!

For the month of March 2020, the District is offering a matching gift incentive to all Rotarians who give to the Rotary Foundation Annual Fund. The match applies to every gift that brings Rotarians to their next Paul Harris Fellow level.

For example, if you are $600 away from your next PHF level, a gift of $300, matched with 300 recognition points by a generous donor in our District, will move you to that next PHF level.  Again, the matching points are applied only to gifts that reach the next level.  The maximum match is 500 points (which matches a gift of $500).

To participate in this opportunity, you will need to fill out Form 123-EN which is available at the Foundation tab on the District’s website at www.district5970.org , or click the link below.  Please email the completed form to john.wasta@gmail.com or mail the completed form to John Wasta, 221 Kent Ct. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA  52402.  If you are paying by check, please make it payable to “The Rotary Foundation”, and please include the check with the form.

If you make your gift online at www.rotary.org, please make a note of the amount of your gift on the 123-EN form and send it to John to receive your match.  Please do not send credit card information via email.

Wondering how close you are to your next PHF level?  Just email John Wasta or Don Meyer, DRFCC Chair, at foundationchair@district5970.org or call him at 641-251-4655.

Rotary Rush ends on March 31!   Make your gift now!
