Foundation First newsletter

Happy New Year!

Half way through the Rotary year already and I hope your Rotary year is going well.  This being the Foundation newsletter I want to emphasize the fund raising efforts going on.  Rotary Rush is going on through February.  Please consider donating to reach a Paul Harris Fellow recognition level (or the next level of Paul Harris recognition) we have an anonymous donor that would like to help.  If you will donate half way the donor will match your gift and help you achieve the next PHF recognition.  For details (and restrictions) please click here.

Did you know you can look up your own donation levels and recognitions whenever you wish.  You need to be registered on MyRotary at www.rotary.org.  If you are not it is easy, just go to the Rotary.org website and register.  Once you are registered, you log in and then click on your name in the top right corner of the website.  Click ‘My Donations’ link and a page opens.  On this page click ‘Donor History Report’ link.  This will take you to a page where you click the ‘Donor History Report’ Link and your individual report opens.  The page you are looking at is the Overview page that shows your donation and recognition totals.  To look at each donation, transaction and recognition individually click on the ‘Transaction Detail’ tab at the bottom and scroll through.

While you are on this webpage, please look to see how many recognition points you have accumulated.  You should have a recognition point for every dollar you have donated (less any you have used).  You can use your recognition points to recognize someone else as a Paul Harris Fellow (this requires 1000 points) or you can combine your points with others to give someone else a Paul Harris Fellowship.  To transfer points you must use at least 100 of your points.

I want to remind you that my goal for every District 5970 member this year is to give at least $25.00 more dollars to the Annual fund than you did last year.  This will allow us to give another $11,400.00 in District grants four years from now.  It would be really cool if each District member gave at least $25.00.

Reminder -  there will be a District conference in April in conjunction with District 6000.  District conferences are a great place to learn more about Rotary and this one will be a great place to meet Rotarians from all over Iowa.  There are some terrific things going on in our two Districts and we look forward to sharing what is happening and hear from you what you think could happen going forward.
Please contact me if you have Foundation questions.
