The past few months have been full of learning and settling into life here, and I’m especially excited to be experiencing the holiday season in the city. Christmas lights are appearing everywhere, and they make the longer nights feel surprisingly cozy. Even though I was sad to miss Thanksgiving with my family, my friends at Goodenough College put together a Friendsgiving celebration complete with a nice dinner and American football at the pub — a comforting taste of home.
Academically and socially, things continue to grow in really positive ways. I’ve had more opportunities to connect with other global scholars in London, and it has been inspiring to get to know people from all over the world who are passionate about their fields. (This included a trip to Florence!)
I’m grateful every day for the chance to be here, and I appreciate the support of the Rotary community more than I can say. Thank you for encouraging me on this journey. I look forward to keeping you updated as I move into the next term.
